adoption requirements

 

         basic adoption requirements:


  • rabbits must have 24/7 access to a MINIMUM space of 2x3 meters for pairs and larger for group.
  • rabbits must be provided with an enriching space, with lots to do, plenty of toys, hides, tunnels, soft flooring, things to chew, large litter tray, water bowls, foraging and digging opportunities.
  • outdoor setups must be fully predator, weather and escape proof and must have a large shelter.
  • rabbits must be provided with an appropriate diet, catering to their individual needs.
  • rabbits must live in pairs or groups, never alone.
  • rabbits must receive yearly RHDV vaccinations and health checks at an exotics vet.
  • rabbits must be regularly brushed and have their nails trimmed.
  • rabbits must be provided with lots of enrichments and allowed to express their natural behaviours.
  • rabbits must be integrated into the family and get lots of attention.
  • rabbits must receive any and all vet care at an exotic vet when needed.
  • rabbits must be kept out of unnecessary stressful situations, they cannot be taken out for walks, to the beach or dangerous unfamiliar areas or put in clothes or harnesses.
  • any area the rabbits have access to must be safe and rabbit-proof to prevent any injures.
  • rabbits must preferably be kept fully separated from any other pets.
  • any and all other rabbits you have must be sterilised and vaccinated

  • each rabbit may have slightly different adoption criteria due to their individual needs, some requiring to be free roam, some needing an outdoor play space, ongoing health issues, etc...
